ritratto - potrait

Grazie mille in anticipo a tutti voi.

§ Dear friends, I need a little help.
This painting is hanged on a wall in our dining/sitting/living/television/miniatures room.
Oh, yes, we live in a small flat and space is what it is ....
But, a part from that, I'd like your suggestions on how to print a subject on a clear plastic sheet like those used for stencilling.
The original is painted on a plexiglass pane and it is hanged at a certain distance from the wall to create shadows.
I'd like so much to have it in mini; might anybody help me ?
Thank you very much in advance to you all.

Ciao,
Ciao

What a beautiful painting, Rosanna.

You'd have to photograph your painting (I'm thinking you can't scan it in?) and then reduce the figures to fit on your miniature piece of plexiglass. Print them on the water slide decal, cut them out and then slide them on a piece of acrylic plexiglass (like they use for windows in dollhouses) and then you can hang it away from your mini wall much like you have in your real house.

You can get the water slide decals on eBay or micromark. If I can help, Rosanna, just let me know!

Rosanna, this picture is so beautiful. I was going to suggest photographing it too and then print it like how you would print slides for presentation.

@ Grazie Sonia, sei stata velocissima.
@ Marsha: that's a great idea! I'll have a look for decal on the net :o))
@ Sans: I tought of printing it on tissue paper and then make a decoupage on plexiglass but Marsha's suggestion is perfect. If only I can find the decal.... Thank youvery much :o))

La mia mail e' sonyait68@yahoo.it

Rosanna,
You could try printing it on a plastic sheet called transfer paper.

We used this in drafting to copy printed materials on to vellum paper, we would run it through the copier to copy the words on it and then the clear transfer would be applied over the vellum before it went through the printer. (think building plans)

You can probably still find it in an office supply store. Or try using those plastic sleeves that people put documents in, just cut it to a single sheet to go through your printer.

Hope that helps! :)

Sorry, I have no experience in this. I love the painting though, nice to have that extra dimension of the shade.

I have an award for you on my blog. I always have a bit mixed feelings about awards. They are ment to be a positive thing, but also ask precious time to give it to others, which can be a burden. So feel free to do whatever you like with it.

When I was still working (retired now), we often made what we called transparencies which were charts, graphs, whatever that we created in our computer and then printed out on thin, see-through plastic sheets made for that purpose and sold at office supply stores. The printed sheets were then projected onto a screen using what is called an overhead projector. We had laser jet printers at work - I'm not sure if this would work with inkjet printers. But it's worth a try! :)

Both your blogs are lovely. I was in Florence last fall and am already thinking about my next trip. And, actually, I've been looking at either Liguria or Umbria (or maybe both if I can figure it all out).

Good luck with miniaturizing this wonderful and unique painting!

Mary Lynne, that's what I meant, but you explained it so much better than I.

That is a wonderful painting, especially the way it creates shadows. The suggestions are great, reversing the image and printing it onto a transparency on the wrong side would work too, just like making transparent stained glass windows on the computer. On the right side it might be not as shiny though, so I agree with Mary Lynne too. Water decals are great too.

A presto♥

I would go to an office supply store and get a box of transparent sheets (overhead projectors), you can print on them in a computer printer. Good luck.
Beautiful picture.

I have no idea how you can do it but I loved the painting.

yeah! what Dale and Mary Lynne said! XD

alternatively, i did see some 'print it yourself' decal sheets which are suitable for inkjet printers, they are used for 'sticking' to windows, tiles, etc...just like those 'stickers' for the windscreen of the car? would that work too?
