la melagrana - the pomegranate

§ I feel a bit better thus I had fun doing something which will have pride of place in the dining room of the Casa Rossa.
I love paintings and I like them BIG ! possibly a little exagerated.
Hence I copied the, real scale, painting of a friend who has an incredible tecnique and I presented myself with his Pomegranate.

Rosanna,

It is a wonderful painting. It will look great on your dollhouse wall. Are you going to make a frame for it?

OMG I did not paint it! I could not do it for my life sake !! I printed it on a rough paper then I fixed it and afterwards I glazed it with a mildly shiny varnish. I tried to simulate the brush strokes to make it look more real.
It will not have a frame because the original has not.

It's not fair! I haven't had breakfast yet and here you are posting pictures of pommegranite when I've just come from Ira's blog where she has Devil's Food Cake - is it a conspiracy?? :) LOL

A great idea to copy the painting, I love the colours.

Glad you're feeling better, even if only a little :)

Rosanna, the pomegranate painting is beautiful. Tell your friend that I admire his technique and I admire what you did with it. I am sitting here waiting for the pomegranate in my back yard to bloom...Soon.

I didn't mean to give yu the impression I thought you painted it. No matter it is still wonderful and not framing it is great too.

This friend of yours really paint beautifully. Pomegranate is my favourite fruit right now. It is in season and I buy them whenever I can. The mini version will look fantastic in your casa, Rosanna. I like the way you did it because it really look like a real (acrylic? ) painting and not something you printed from a computer.

I so agree with you! I like them BIG too. And you did a splendid job with that little panting. Did you use water colours? Your painting looks more translucent than acrylic would be. And I love the close-up of the fruit!

Besides, I just love pomegranate! This year I am too lazy to peel them, so I have been drinking liters of pomegranate juice!

beautiful painting! I thought it was 1:1 when I saw the preview picture in my list! Your friend made a very beautifull painting and you made such a great mini out of it! I love it! I agree on big paintings, if you're gonna put up any, they better be good and big right!? ;) :D
