La farfalla ed il giacinto - The butterfly and the hyacinth

§ Possiedo queste due piccole meraviglie da un po' di tempo ma non riuscivo a postarli.

Sono opera di Veronique Cornish ma li ho comprati sul sito di Crazy4Minis dopo che me ne sono innamorata a prima vista.

Non so dove andranno ma non faccio altro che tenerli in mano e guardarli

 § I have been in possess of these two little wonders but I didn't manage to post them.
They are made by Veronique Cornish but I bought them from Crazy4minis site after a first sight love stroke.
I don't know where they will go but I cannot help keeping them in my hands and admire them.

Un Kitchenaid per Sonya

Solo per Sonya ((^_^)

Questo è il Kitchenaid, il mio sogno nel cassetto.

E' talmente costoso che non me lo potrò mai permettere, anche perchè in fin dei conti è una planetaria e se ne trovano di altrettanto valide MOLTO più economiche.

Ma non è bellissimo ???

La versione rosa è stata fatta per aiutare L'Associazione per la ricerca sul Cancro al Seno ed è piuttosto difficile da trovare.

Però io ce l'ho in miniatura ((((((^_^)))))))

Ed è ancora più carino !!

Della serie: chi si contenta, gode ;o)

Il frigorifero rosa - The pink fridge

Questa è la mia idea di frigorifero.

Ahimè un amico che lavora nel settore mi ha confidato in gran segreto che quello vero non funziona granchè bene, ma a noi cosa importa ?

Io so solo che il rosa mi piace e che si accompagna con il mini Kitchenaid già in mio possesso.

Per cui adesso è il turno del pittore di casa, ossia il mio amato bene.

Spero che me lo finisca entro lunedì.

Alas a friend who works in this field told me in great secret that the real one doesn't work too well, but do we really care ?

I only know that I love pink and that it matches with the mini pink Kitchenaid which I already own.

Hence now it's the turn of the house painter, aka DH.

I hope he will finish it within Monday.

I tessuti che amo - The fabrics I love

§ Tutti voi ormai conoscete la mia insana passione per i mezeri.

Questi teli così belli e versatili che sono stati per decenni parte integrante del costume delle donne Genovesi e che per la loro ricchezza di decorazioni sono sempre stati usati nell'arredamento di case ricche e povere.

Io non ne sono mai sazia, li vorrei ovunque anche se mi accontento di usarli come copriletto.

§ You all known by now my insane passion for the mezeri.
These spreads, so beautiful and versatile, have been used for decades as integral part of the costume of Genoan women and for their wealth of decorations have always been used to decorate house both rich and poor.
I have never enough of them, I'd like to have them everywhere but I'm happy to use them as coverlets.

§ Questo telo è davvero particolare: normalmente nei mezeri è rappresentato un solo albero, l'Albero della Vita, mai due.

Questo deve essere stato disegnato per una coppia di novelli sposi. O almeno così mi piace pensare.

§ This spread is peculiar: usually mezeri have only one tree, the Tree of Life, never two of them.

This must have been designed for a newly wed couple. At least that's what I like to think.

§  Ho trovato queste meravigliose fotografie su un catalogo regalatomi in un negozio di Genova aperto da poco. Il proprietario ne aveva solo due copie ma è stato così gentile da farmene dono.

 § I found these wonderful pics on a catalogue which was presented to me in a newly opened shop in Genoa. The owner only had two copies but very kindly gifted me with one.

Nuovi utensili per la cucina - New kitchenware

 § A Roma, in Piazza Navona, per tutto il mese di Dicembre e fino all'Epifania si possono trovare i banchetti dei Presepari.
Già l'anno scorso avevo comprato qualcosina ma davvero troppo poco.
Quest'anno sono partita più agguerrita e con le idee più chiare.

§ In Rome, in Piazza Navona, during December til the Epiphany you can find the Nativity set sellers stalls.
Last year I bought something but truly too little.
This year I was more determined and I had a clear mind.

§  Ahimè, non tutto si può usare, molto spesso gli oggetti proposti sono troppo piccoli però questa serie di pentole di vero rame va benissimo per noi.
Ovviamente non sono pezzi di grande qualità , pensate ai rami di Catherine, ma nella loro economicità sta il grande vantaggio.

§ Alas, we cannot use everything, often the proposed objects are too small but this set of real copper pans are perfect for us.
Obviously these are not great quality pieces, think of Catherine's coppers pans, but they have the advantage of being truly cheap.

 § Nessun pezzo è costato più di € 1.50  ((^_^)) , così non ho avuto rimorsi.

§ None of them costed more than € 1.50 ((^_^)), then I was not remorsefull.

 § Questi bei pentoloni sono perfetti per la polenta o un bel minestrone

§ These nice thick pots will be perfect for polenta or a yummy vegetable soup

§ Mentre i secchi non bastano mai. Anzi, uno è già in funzione.

§ While you never have enough buckets. Well, one is already in use.
