§ La cartella ha un minuscolo bottoncino cucito ma la scatola di acquerelli è incredibile !
§ Il pennello ha le setole e si vede a malapena ma quando l'ho notato stavo per svenire !

§  The folder has a teeny sewn button but it is the watercolours box which is to die for !
The brush has bristles and it's hardly visible but when I noticed it I nearly fainted !

What a title !

§ Ma non sapevo che altro scrivere per introdurre un nuovo acquisto per la Casa Rossa.

§ But I didn't know how to introduce a new item for the Casa Rossa.

 § Che segue questo negletto blog da anni sa che la casa quando sarà finita, quando e non se, sarà arredata in stile contemporaneo/vintage/antico/boho ..... insomma sarà una casa vissuta dove ogni generazione ha lasciato un segno.

§ Those who follow this neglected blog since the beginning know that when the house will be finished, when and not if, it will be furnished in contemporary/vintage/antique/boho style .... well, it will be a lived in house where each generation has left a mark.

§  Così ci sarà spazio per un vassoio antico e prezioso fatto di mogano intarsiato con legno di pero  e maniglie di ottone.
Un gioiellino eseguito dalle sapienti mani di Geoffrey Wonnacott che ho acquistato al SIMP lo scorso Giugno.
L'unico pezzo che la famiglia si potesse permettere ma per me è un vero tesoro.

§ Thus there will be space for an ancient and precious tray made in mahogany with burr veneer inlaid with a pearwood center and brass carry handles.
A little jewel made by the skillful hands of Geoffrey Wannacott and which I bought at the SIMP last June.
The only piece which the family might afford but a true treasure to me.

§ Ora sto aspettando una teiera che gli renda giustizia.... adoro l'argento ;o)
Ma forse ho bisogno di un tavolo come si deve prima !!!

§ Now I am waiting a teapot hich can do it justice .... I do love silver ;o)
But perhaps I need a proper coffee table first !!!

Primavera - Spring

§ Primavera !!
Sul tavolo vicino a Priscilla avrete notato due vasi di fiori. Sono due esempi dell'incredibile abilità di Ketty Pierro, giovane artista Italiana che non manca mai di stupirmi.

§ Spring !!
On the table next to Priscilla you may have noticed two pots of flowers. They are samples of the incredible ability of Ketty Pierro a young Italian artist who never ceases to surprise me.

§ I muscari sono un regalo Natalizio. Purtroppo le mie foto NON rendono assolutamente giustizia alla bellezza e alla ricchezza di dettagli di questi minuscoli fiori completamente realizzati a mano uno per uno !

§ The muscari were a Christmas gift. Unfortunately my pictures definitely DO NOT give justice to the beauty and wealth of details of these minuscule flowers completely handmade one by one !

§ La pila di libri su cui appoggia la tazza, la cartolina, il biglietto mi ricordano casa mia dove i libri sono letteralmente base per qualsiasi cosa. I cioccolatini dorati a forma di cuore sono un dettaglio romantico che mi fa sorridere e richiama bei momenti.

§ The stack of books on which the mug rests, the postcard, the ticket remind me of my own house where books literally are the basement for anything. The golden heart shaped choccies are a romantic detail which brings a smile to my face and arouse nice memories.

§ La primula invece è una novità alla Casa Rossa.
Vi consiglio di andare sul sito di Ketty per vedere foto decisamente migliori !
Queste non rendono la delicatezza, la sottigliezza, la trasparenza dei fiori e delle foglie.
Per non parlare della maestria con cui il vaso è anticato e ricco di patina.
Un miracolo di bravura in poco più di 2 cm di altezza

§ The primrose is a novelty at the Casa Rossa.
I suggest you to go to Ketty's website to watch at definitely better pictures !Mine do not pay justice to the delicacy, thinness and transparency of flowers and leaves.
Not to forget of the craftsmanship with which the pot has been aged and given a patina.
A miracle of skill in 1 inch of height

Vi va una nuotata ? - What about a swim ?

§ È così caldo, ma così caldo che l'unico refrigerio possibile sembra essere una bella nuotata
Almeno è quello che faccio io a Genova dove quest'anno l'acqua è così cristallina da non farmi rimpiangere altri, più esotici, lidi.
Mai come quest'anno ho visto distese di ricci, banchi di pesci piccoli e grandi: uno spettacolo della Natura !
Per celebrare l'estate e il nostro mare alla Casa Rossa è arrivata un'amica cicciottella e allegra, il costumi a pois le dona moltissimo  !

§ It is hot, so hot that the only way to find some coolness seem to be a nice swim
At least this is what I do in Genoa where this year the water is so crystal clear that it makes me not regret of other more exotic sites.
Never like this year I saw a multitude of sea urchins, schools of fishes big and small: a real Nature show !
To celebrate Summer and our sea at the Red House has arrived a chubby and merry friend, the polka dots swimming suit becomes her a lot !

§ To prepare us to Autumn arrived a pottery casserole with a bunny

§ Mentre il pesce, leit motif della casa, è adatto a tutte le stagioni !!

§ Questi adorabili accessori non sono altro che "fèves", i piccoli doni che i bambini Francesi trovano nella torta dell'Epifania, la Galette du Rois.
Un tesoro di mini accessori che si rivelano preziosi per noi miniaturiste

§ These adorable accessories are "fèves", the little gifts that French kids find in the Epiphany cake, the Gallette du Rois.
A wealth of mini accessories which are precious to us mini makers.

§ Per ora sono sul tavolo della mia cucina azzurra;  chissà perché dò sempre nomi di colori alle mie creazioni ....

§ Now they are on the table f my blue kitchen; I wonder why all my works take their names from colours ....

§ Ed ecco di nuovo la mia Sirenetta, mi fa sorridere ogni volta :o)

§ Here it is again my Little Mermaid, she makes me smile each time  :o)

Il mio adorato coresetto non è opera di Pilar bensì di Pedrete dicge tutti voi  voi tutti conoscete e apprezzate.
Era doveroso rendere merito alla sua fantastica bravura

My beloved corset wasn't made by Pilar but by Pedrete whose works you all know and appreciate.

§  Tutto cominciò con un cuscino, un piccolo, tenero, innocente cuscino stampato come un antico sampler ....

§ Everything begun with a cushion, a small, sweet, innocent cushion printed like an ancient sampler ....

§ Ma vicino al cuscino c'era una grande scatola azzurro cielo

§ But next to the cushion there was a big sky blue box

§ Preziosa carta velina nascondeva il contenuto

§ Sia il cuscino che il corsetto sono frutto del fantastico lavoro di Pilar.
Il cuscino è venuto a casa con me da Miniaturitalia ma il corsetto, che dovetti lasciare lì causa fine fondi fiera ;o), l'ho comprato dal sito .
Non avrei mai potuto lasciarlo indietro !


§ Both the cushion and the corset are fabulously made by Pilar.
The cushion came back home with me from Miniaturitalia while the corset, which I left there because I got broken at the fair ;o), I bought from her site.
I could have never leave it behind !

§ Queste mensole moderne andranno nella "camera di Matteo" e arrivano da un'amica che ha avuto finalmente l'idea di proporre minis moderne . Ti voglio bene Annalisa !!!
These modern shelves will go into "Matteo's room" and they are from a friend's shop. She had, at last, the idea of offering a range of modern minis. I love you Annalisa !!!

§ E questo è tutto , sono partita con pochissimi soldi per non cadere in tentazione ma ho un sacco di rimpianti .... infatti ho già fatto spese su Etsy ;o)
§ This is all folks, I went with very little money so I couldn't indulge too much into temptations but I have lots of regrets .... actually I alreday made shopping on Etsy ;o)

La Ball Chair è di Eero Aarnio, fu progettata nel 1962 e messa in produzione nel 1966 , ottima annata se mi posso permettere ;o), e tutt'oggi in produzione.
L'Elefantino è di Charles e Ray Eames, fu progettato nel 1945 ed è ancora in produzione per Vitra.

The Ball Chair is by Eero Aarnio, designed in 1962 and produced in 1966, a very good year if I you allow me ;o), and it is still produced.
The Elephant is by Charles and Ray Eames, designed in 1945 and still produced by Vitra.

Cavallucci marini - Sea horses

§ Nuovi arrivi alla Casa Rossa !
Essendo la casa di un marinaio, o comunque di una città costiera, non poteva mancare un pezzetto di mare.
Questa piccola, adorabile cupola è il mio ultimo acquisto fatto presso Shannon che ha un negozio su Etsy.
Ho usato la sua fotografia perchè la mia macchina non riusciva a rendere la perfezione dei due cavallucci marini.
Il mini acquario starà in libreria in bella vista ma per ora è sulla mia scrivania dove posso godermelo tutti i giorni.

§ New arrival at the Casa Rossa!
Being a sailor's house, or at least in a coastal city, a bit of sea couldn't be missed.
This tiny, adorable dome is my last buying at Shannon's shop on Etsy.
I used her pic since my camera didn't give credit to the perfection of the two sea horses.
The mini acquarium will stay in the library but up to now it sits on my desk where I can enjoy it every day.

Post gemello - Twin post

§ Mi perdonerete la ripetizione ma il tempo è tiranno.

Solo oggi sono tornata in possesso della macchina fotografica per cui ho fatto un post gemello con La Stanza di Giuggiola.

§ Dopo mesi di coma la mia macchina fotografica è tornata in funzione !!!

Non ci credevo più e mi ero ormai rassegnata all'acquisto di una nuova.

Non averla mi ha anche bloccata sul blog perchè cos'è un blog senza foto, belle o brutte che siano ?

§ After some months of coma my camera has come back to life !!!

I didn't believe this possible any more and I was resigned on buying a new one.

Not having a camera also stopped my blogging because what's a blog without pics, nice or nasty as they can be ?

§  La prima cosa che vi mostrerò è la amatissima Bubble Chair che è destinata alla camera di Mini Matteo

§ First thing I'll show to you is my beloved Bubble Chair which is meant for Mini Matteo's room

§ Avrete notato che i cuscini sono davvero troppo rigidi allora mi sono messa in caccia di un tessuto che per colore e consistenza potesse adattarsi.
Ho trovato delle toppe di Alcantara per maglioni ! Fantastiche, morbide e vellutate e dell'esatta tonalità di rosso.
Costosucce ahimè ma le volevo !

 § You may have noticed that the cushiond were really too stiff hence I begun hunting for a fabric which might be good in colour and texture.
I found Alcantara patches for jumpers ! fabulous, soft and velvety and of the exact hue of red.
Alas, pretty expensive but I wanted them !

§  Ho fatto una dima e ho tagliato...con un po' di timore ;o)

§ I draw the shape and I cut.... with some fear ;o)
